lol you know that dragon in the wastelands? i tried to kill him with poison cloud...took me 1 hour to get his hp down 1/4 the way.... Yeah, it took me forever to kill him, too. In fact, after I killed him, I realized he was the highest level being I'd killed up to that point, and it gave me lots of experience for offing him with poison cloud. You just have to stand really close to the dragon when you cast poison cloud.

As far as I recall the dragon was higher level than my hero ever was (highest I got was 52), so probably around 60th level. I don't remember specifically though, but I'll try to find out and report back.

Death suggestion: When you die, you lose random items (people looting your corpse). Better: you lose all your money and gems. (You shouldn't carry your money arround, anyway ). TO make it fun, there might be a diety who asks you riddles to see if you're "worthy" to return on earth. Fun and easy... And at the end of the game, it would show how many times the player died. Just a suggestion.

Runescape? Never heard of. If it's a Pen and Paper RPG, I never played PnPs. I didn't play many computer RPGs either but I got the idea from Baldur's Gate 2 when I had fun summoning the Wish spells and reloading because I messed up the wishes, a bit .

Hmm, it seems kind of cheap that a player could just answer a few questions and be resurrected. I get the idea, but still, Riftrunner doesn't seem like the place where god has more influence than demons. Perhaps it could be worked into part of the plot, like in DD where the dragonrider kills you and then Zandalor resurrects you. But for "every day" deaths, reloading works fine.

Why would I go through all of that instead of just reloading? (As has been mentioned before)

*cries over lost SaveGame* I can relate. I recently reformatted (stupid DirectX 9). I had everything ready to backup, and then didn't. Mind you, this character is a lot better. I did a similar thing in Septerra Core. I was 56 successful hours into the game (not including dying and reloading) andabout three hours from the end. I changed computers and forgot to copy my saved game. Now I'm only up to chapter 2 of 14 (I think) again.

Ugh... Septerra Core, I hated that game... I mean, it was cool and all in the beginning, but then the bugs kicked in, and they were way worse then any I've seen in Divine Divinity.
Suddenly for no reason whatsoever, the story changed completely, and I was fighting level 300 or so monsters on a plane, because I had something they wanted? They could kill me in one swing, and I hit them and barely hurt them. My lord that is such a big bug... I tried cheating, but after those monsters, the game got weirder and weirder, and I just gave up.
That's why I never really liked the game. It had a cool combat system though, but after fighting a couple douzen enemies, it got really boring and repetetive.

You must have gone in the wrong direction of something. I never had any problems like that.

Yeah, but it's still a bug. And if the game doesn't want me to go in a certain direction, it should stop me. But yeah, I probably didn't do what the game expected me to do. But I don't see how that could possibly be my fault?
