Alternatively, you should always be exploring with lit torches. When combat starts, use the "Throw" action to throw it on the ground near an enemy and it will stay lit. A better solution is probably to cast Light on your tank party member, but there's bugs associated with this I believe.

If you drag your Torch on your hotbar, it will automaticaly switched for your previously wielded weapon when clicked.
Personaly i usualy give Torch to my Wizzard, Warlock, or Cleric ...
They dont attack in meele too often anyway (maybe except Cleric ... if you dont use him as support), so they could at least work as source of Light.

Also note that Torch have 1d4 bludge and 1d4 Fire damage ... maybe i get it wrong, but single handed 2d8 damage with permanent dim light on surounding space? That sound like some serious weapon for low levels.
