A survivor gets hit less often, and usually has a higher dexterity than the warrior, meaning that although the survivor does less damage, the overall damage taken and given will be the same across the same span of time because the survivor has a higher defense, and more likely a high offense due to high dexterity.

- true, a survivor gets more agility at the start, but that doesn't mean a warrior can't achieve a high agility at the endgame. i pumped up much of my stat pts into agility as soon as i had the miminum str requirement (thanks to the guys here for informing me of that), so much so that for much of the game, i had a 94% chance of hitting and only 23% chance of being hit. i kept finnigan's magic lockpicks, so that added 20 pts into agility iirc. i love high agility also. what's the use of high dmg when you can't hit as often as you want?

A survivor can sneak, and so has a much easier time stealing than the warrior. The same can be said of the mage, who can swap places with others, but sneaking is more effective for merchants that tend to walk back to their originating place. This means that the survivor gains access to better equipment (without cheating) earlier than the warrior and therefore has a better survivability rate.

- i wholeheartedly agree with that pt.

A survivor is the most versatile of classes, because he or she can be skilled across classes and doesn't need to be reduced to being labeled either thief, warrior or wizard. A survivor does not need to feel guilty for ripping people off, stealing, or putting skillpoints in cross-class skills, because a survivor simply... survives.

- but not on this. it's not a matter of being labeled as such and such, but of the freedom to devote pts into any skill you want. since the game allows us to do just that, there's an endless number of possibilities of char builds. however, on a per pt of str and per pt of constitution, the warrior gets more bang for the buck than the survivor. but i don't mean to say that the latter is not viable, as many here who have completed the game as a survivor could attest. if only the survivor could get more damage per pt of agility if he/she uses a bow/crossbow, then i think it would be more balanced.

I always play the female survivor and prefer her to the warrior and the mage. If you've seen her and heard her, you'd know why.

- well, i guess it all boils down to this: it's a matter of personal preference. and of course, that is the most important thing.
