Just thought I'd post it because it felt a bit odd while I was playing.

In the goblin camp before talking to Dror Ragzlin I used disguise self to turn from my tiefling self to a drow.

I let Ragzlin interrogate the dead mind flayer I killed. The narrator then says it's my face that he can see in the memories killing the Mind Flayer...

Ragzlin gets mad and accuses me of killing it but with disguise self I didn't even look like the person he saw in the vision so he could not have known it was me.

Loving the game right now otherwise!

This game is not very good at accountability for player choice

Larian's Biggest Oversight, what to do about it, and My personal review of BG3 EA
"74.85% of you stood with the Tieflings, and 25.15% of you sided with Minthara. Good outweighs evil, it seems."

It could be something they just havent added yet, or havent thought about yet. All the better that you came up with this cool idea!^^

That sounds like an obvious place where they will need to change things to account for Disguise Self.

It's hard for the game to take into account all the options that the player can come up with.

I think that's a bit unfair, actually.
While there are "holes" that need to be fixed, even with all its current flaws the game is way more reactive than most other titles in the genre.

Then again if there's an area where I actually saw improvements since the first EA build is precisely this area.
People pointed that creatures that we were supposed to be able to silence kept screaming/yelling and they improved.
I made a thread pointing that it didn't make much sense that the game would go to great lengths to warn players against leaving Gale dead for more than two days only for nothing to happen after and they (I've been told) fixed this.
I made a thread pointing that it was a bit stupid/inconsistent that the red dragon was marked as a level 4 creature and they fixed it (still not a fan of "levels" being clearly visible under any creature's name in the game, but hey, one step at the time).

Etc.

If there aren't many such cases, I think they can change that. But if there are a lot of them, it will be easier for them to find an excuse, for example, "he knows about your true appearance because of the tadpole", or something like that.

Anyone knows if crushing that wall in Selune temple can be silenced with this spell?
I believe there was some discusion about it around here, but no idea how it ended. O_o

Also, i would like to ask about other spells ...
Gust of Wind / Thunderwave vs. Fog Cloud

What do you think? Should those spells cancel Fog Cloud or not? O_o

I still dont understand why cant we change Race for our hirelings. frown
Lets us play Githyanki as racist as they trully are! frown

Yeah, there was: https://forums.larian.com/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Main=91671&Number=700361#Post700361

Didn't bother testing it with the latest patches yet.

I got a response from them via email:

By design, any character with a tadpole (true soul or potential companions) will recognise the player characters even when shapeshifted or in disguise.
The telepathic connection is strong enough to bypass outward appearances.

Sounds like a lousy explanation given the context, but ok.

More than anything, I’m surprised you actually got an answer.
I thought you were supposed to submit stuff for them to take notice of the issue but I never got anything more than an automated reply from the system.

Now I sort of wish that when I asked why wolves in the game looked like hairy crocodile-pig hybrids from Chernobyl someone would have bothered with telling me that True Souls see wolves differently.

If this is true (I didn't even realize they emailed responses to the feedback?), it would help for them to have a dialogue like "I can see you through that weak illusion..."

Yes, it would be better if they would add something like that.

Yeah the person who emailed me back said they don't usually reply to that sort of thing.

"Normally things submitted as feedback are handled separated from other reports, and are not responded to individually, however, I noticed this when checking something else."

And yeah I think if that is the way they are choosing to explain the disguise self there should probably be a line addressing it when you are using it with another person with a tadpole.
