You are told to read the tag on the magic carpet to make it fly. The tag reads
Axeminster, the name of a carpet manufacturer in the UK. It was a big deal for me having never been in England.
The magic mirror is obviously from Snow White (or Shrek <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif" alt="" />).
