I have a problem when playing multiplayer with friends.

If someone else I'm playing with listens in to the conversation it cuts off early i.e. before the conversation has finished.

This isn't just a one off. It happened on a regular basis.

I'm playing on Stadia.

Experienced the same. And if you have unfortunate timing, your screen can turn completely black (the quick solution to this is to "find" a chat icon and start a dialogue, if you manage to find and click on a NPC that you can speak to, your screen will return to normal).
