Larian Studios Forums Divine Divinity (English) Help/Tips/Tricks Manuscript from Cybu Question--possible spoilers

After I kill Cybu (the guy who killed the duke), he drops a manuscript, but I can't pick it up or drag it into my inventory. It doesn't affect the quest as far as the duke goes, but it *does* make it so I can't finish the quest with Commander Ralph...any ideas on how to get the darn thing?

Just leave the note there for now. Go back to Ars Magicana and talk to Kistandalis (save before you do), and reload until he sells you a telekinesis spellbook. Use the telekinesis spell to see if you can pick up the manuscript that Cybu drops. As far as I recall it should be picked up with a single click unless it dropped in a bad (ie unreachable) place. If this doesn't work, then you should probably just leave it.

Telekinesis triggers the default action of the object, so it opens letters rather than picking them up.

If you can not read it, maybe you are not close enough? Try getting closer or on the other side of a wall (if that is where it fell), clicking by the letter to move right beside it, and then reading and/or drag and dropping into your inventory.

If you can not get it, and can not re-load a recent save, a possible solution is below, though I would have to get the files from an old save.

I'm not sure but I think the default action for the Cybu manuscript is to pick it up. It's one of the only few manuscripts that does that. Maybe it's because it's a dropped item rather than one that is merely laying around (like the Elrath one). Regardless, try a few things first like Raze suggested before giving up. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

I'll try it out and let you know if it works. I was standing right on top of the manuscript, so I doubt it's a proximity issue. If you want to try the Lost Items procedure, Kiya has a set of inventory files with the letter (see last post in the topic).

I've been unable to pick up or read this manuscript too. Did you ever get a solution?
