It actually makes some sense why many of the character deaths were rigged. It's because they dragged what 6-8 people out to a 4-person party. It would kinda suck to go all that way, be put into costume and just sit on the sidelines the whole time.

I don't disagree, but IF they were determined to do it so that everyone present got a decent amount of screen time and a chance to play, then they should NOT have set it up pitched it, advertised it and curried viewership from the pitch that it would be a Twitch-plays style event over which the viewers would have control. That was deeply dishonest, and puts them in poor light. It is not the first time they have done this, and it shows a deep disregard for their audience.

Dear Lord, The Drama! Some of the event was pre-shot and pre-planned, but audience participation was incorporated into the event too. They were following Twitch’s instructions and going along with their votes. Calm down. It was a harmless, silly bit of marketing that (if you were watching the chat in Twitch you would know) lots of people enjoyed. Larian were having fun. Let them have their fun. No need to be such a curmudgeon.
