it's usually pretty hard to do that with good characters.
Not to say that these characters are revolutionary or anything like that, but I think you're wrong. Firstly because you can totally describe good characters in one sentence. It just requires stripping them of any nuance.
Harry Potter: Magical orphan chosen one who just wants to go to school with his friends.
Harry Dresden: Gritty magical detective.
Goku: Nice, dumb guy who really loves fighting and eating.
Catra (From She-Ra and the Princesses of Power): Angry teen girl with abandonment issues.
Secondly, this is still act one, we don't know the full breadth or even probably half of these character's stories, so there's sure to be more nuance and interest to be found.
