again (DAD) u made several good points. But some of the lootings are very fun. I always (almost) play as a survivor, and I think that the story is good, a bit cheesy, and very good. But the lootings aren't bad, they make it good also, in their own way. Though, if u just want to loot, u should play Thief.
OK, here is yet another game design idea for divinity.
Why cannot we develop a team of three characters in parallel time but sequentially such that we may be able to train the warrior in Aleroth, the thief in Verdisitis and the mage in the black forest, then later in the story line they meet together at the dwarven inn to proceed with whatever story that may be. So they are the three marked ones without killing any of them like the idiotic two that were slain.
While developing the skills of the thief, you may focus on being a shadow that can pickpocket unseen, pick the locks of doors, chests and treasures, trade and make a fortune while solving myriads of intelligence quests while boosting her/ his agility too.
Simultaneously, we could develop the warrior by selecting a single favourable weapon in which we excel her /his expertise.
In the same time we also develop a mage who perfects alchemy, identification and elemental spells.
Finally we form a party of elite talents while we enjoy playing the role of each distinctive feature.
From thence on we could choose the most appropriate character to handle a specific situation within a quest for the party to solve rather than a single handed character.
The warrior shall be needed for defence and offence, while the thief to bring forth devilish ideas and open closed gates. The mage could come in handy to reach things out of hand by telekinesis or translocate to sealed rooms etcetera. In a war time crisis the thief could set up the booby traps and release the death scorpions while the mage bless the party and
Heal his friends if needed as well as cast offensive spells at special critical moments.
I do not have any objections on playing any of those roles with character dedication to style.
My problem was that whatever character you choose in you are forced to be all of those three combined but unfoundedly and inconsistently.
Eggs and sausages are fine with me too, but let me feel that they are intelligent enough to deserve my attention.
Where in the quests do five dwarven ale bottles from Rimmer and 2002 gold coins make any sensible correlation to diverting the destination of a teleporter sitting next to a real life disastrous memorial?
Is it not true that the 11th of September memorial is located inside the game and not in the Egg?
Cheesy is a very merciful adjective to this game rules.
Listen up my dear friend; I do not intend to completely condemn the game as a total failure because it is simply not true. My intention is to give advice for creators of the next creation to avoid the silly and amateurish pitfalls in which they fell like true good ORCS.
So we are on the same side because I am not against Larian Studios with all this time being dedicated to improve their games’ quality without being paid for such services.
I am a fan, ok?
And this site is the correct place for me to vent, rant and give advice.
You have the complete freedom and right to object and counter my opinion of course or debate would have no meaning.
Cheers.
