I don't think it's anywhere near as shallow as DAD makes it out to be.

Shallowness and depth are definitely relative issues.
A crab could believe that it is strolling in the deep when a whale believes it is dying sitting next to it because water barely covers its belly.
No offence intended and I do not mean that you are a crab or that I am a whale but the metaphor popped to my insane mind.
I know I should have never read the thousands of books in diverse branches of sciences and arts because too much knowledge is a gate for great sadness.

You have enlightened me sir of the meaning of the quest of Shrimpo.
I needed to be a shrimp to be able to admire the depth of Divine Divinity.

Funnily enough, you're just the type of person I'd enjoying conversing with in real life. :P I love science and philosophy, too.

Anyway, to turn your post around, I could say that your view of "Divine Divinity having a bad storyline" is relative, too. Afterall, bad compared to what?

Of course, I whole-heartedly agree that Divine Divinity should have a deeper storyline, but if it detracts from the detail and easter-egg-ish humour that makes the game stand out, then I'm not sure I want it anymore.
