For the extra information: Sculpt spells from Wizard evocation allows targets to succeed automatically with no roll, and IF the spell is one that allows a save for half damage, they take no damage instead. It's always on, and free.
Sorcerers get a much weaker version of the ability that costs them their limited sorcery point resource to use as well as requires them to take a particular meta-magic with their Extremely limited and precious meta-magic choices... That version simply lets them succeed on the save, but they still take the on-save effects, including things like half damage. Not sure why Sorcs got an equivalent that was weaker, less useful, cost daily resources to use and also requires a heavy choice value investment... but there you go. Sorcs often get the raw end of the deal compared to wizards. WotC loves wizards a lot more.
In terms of the drow ability - the ability lets you cast a spell; 5e doesn't have 'spell-like abilities' any more - they just have traits that let you cast spells, and it's much simpler that way.
