Anyways, yes I agree, because the gods and their machinations are a very big part of the Forgotten Realms and its lore, so it would be a very useful boon to roleplaying. But more important for me would be expanding the number of deities we can choose to be a cleric of, and especially including Lathander in there.
I had another one but it was sort of long, rambly and got into a highly impractical thought exercise idea for things (which I sort of summarized above) that was sort of sleep deprivation fueled. So I started a topic that was more limited and fueled by "bored at work because no trainees" fueled.
But yeah... the gods of Faerun are characters rather than distant concepts and it feels odd when they're not really involved.
I mean yeah, the average person isn't going to encounter one in a way that they know it. (Apparently Sharess wanders about). But PCs are edge-cases by definition.
