I'll start with the simplest problem. Silence does NOT prevent you from being lured by the harpy's song if you are inside the radius of the spell and they are outside the spell, but being inside the radius DOES prevent you from casting spells. Silence should prevent the harpies' song from being heard altogether. It will shut the harpies up if they are directly targeted.
Second problem, I guess with the encounter trigger. Lae'zel was able to leap to a position on the same outcropping literally right on top of the harpies while in sneak mode. She leapt from a high rock right onto their lair. This did not trigger the encounter at all, which did not happen until Shadowheart had a word with the tiefling child.
Third problem is camera positioning. It was incredibly difficult to make the camera pull out in order to target the harpies. In retrospect perhaps I could've used the harpy portraits in the battle roster, but then I couldn't be sure which harpy I was targeting (preferably the singing one.)
Fourth problem was that the stupid camera kept snapping back to Astarion, who had been knocked unconscious by one of the harpies. It made targeting the harpies a major PITA and was the cause of not one, but two, Silence spells being cast on Astarion instead of the stupid harpies.
What a cluster that fight was...
