Hi!
I wanna share my idea of character build and encourage others to post similar ideas. Even tho I'm concerned if its possible in BG3 technically.
Dagger throw? So Jarxle has the br4acers of infinite daggers and Artemis Enteri has that famous magical jeweled dagger he mostly uses in melee, yet occasionally throws at target, runs quickly to retrieve it from body of the opponent and then continues dual wielding melee weapons. Also in pathfinder society my character has collection of magical daggers (silver, adamantite, flaming, frost) on a blick back belt that she uses in melee and throws as ranged weapons, the daggers teleporting back to the belt after striking a target.
I can easily dualwield daggers in BG3 but I tho I can throw shoes I can't eficiently throw daggers like in penandpaper dnd game. :P Even cyberpunk 2077 dagger throw is better.
Other ideas, commenting this or you own game mechanic restricted builds from pen and paper dnd to BG3?

Ranger with polearm feat. So unique and cool.
Crossbow and finesse weapon dual wield as a Drow.
Evil cleric with flavorful Toll of the Dead cantrip. I think we will be bound to the flavor of healing good clerics when it comes to spells sadly.
Pale master wizard.
Warforged wizard.

Oneshotting assassin who can oneshot squishy enemies, navigates combat in stealth, lurking in the shadow, waiting to pick off weakened targets. I've been playing P:K and was disappointed to find out that this classic type of rogue is not a thing anymore. Stealth skill is essentially useless, except for maybe the rare scouting that *sometimes* helps a little. Now everyone and their dog can sneak attack, both in melee and at range, have god-tier Perception, and there no longer is that fear of a prowling stealthy backstabber who can oneshot your mage in combat...

Summoning is my favorite thing but also really easy to mess up in games.

A rogue archetype whose strength is in setting traps. I know the traps in BG2 are quite out of control but that doesn't mean trap mechanics can't be balanced better. There's a joy in crafting your own traps, selecting the right trap for the right enemies, setting them up in advance, and waiting for enemies to step on them. I don't even know if such an archetype exists in PnP, and even if such an archetype will be implemented I wouldn't expect that you get to craft your own traps, but I'm still secretly holding out hope. Just getting to set traps would be fun enough.

My 4e character that made it to level 14 before the party pk'd me
female Halfling with curly blonde hair freckles and green eyes, was 3'6'' at 68lbs. Virtue of Cunning bard with Silver Star as paragon path/prestige class and Selune as deity. Cunning feature for bards let you move your allies that enemies missed so many squares (got to play chess).
I duelweilded a Lilting Songblade and a Whistling Songbow with Two-fisted shooter feat, had a multi class feat for rogue to sneak attack, ritual caster feat, Arcane Familiar feat (Owl), duel implement spellcaster feat for additional damage, improved cunning to slide people 2 instead of 1, and a few others not worth mentioning.
Magic items: Vecna's Eye, Forged Dwarven chainmail, Elven Cloak, Bag of Holding, Jar of Steam, Fochlucan Bandore, Shroud of Revival, Instant Campsite, Handy Haversack, Bracers of Archery, Endless Quiver, Belt of Vim, Resplendent Boots, & Strongheart Tattoo
Basic items: Thieves Tools, Climbers Kit, waterskin, hammer, grappling hook, beltpouch, bedroll, flint & steel, hemp rope, pistons, ritual book, and a few others
This would be my build I'm transfering over to 5e, I don't expect much.

Rogue two weapon fighting. First turn stealth, move, sneak attack, then bonus action for extra attack at lv 3? Thats a lot of damage on fist turn. If surprised mayby you get extra turn after first attack triggers, so one more attack if you win initiative. Man I miss throwing daggers. I soloed final boss of c77 with them. And had lots of fun with that flaming returning dagger in pathfinder. Infinite alchemist fire with no splash. Ranged fire damage like a cantrip. If we were missing a spelcaster from party and had to kill something like a troll or weird flrsh ooze that never dies unless by burning.

Ach! I remember the days of NWN1 looting bag full of traps all the time. Disarm trap. Pick up trap. This ^ lol. Cover a room with traps or lay traps along a 100-ft path then watch your enemies die trying to get to you. It's one of the more amusing shenanigans, one that is easy to not abuse. This is fun in SWKOTOR and DAO too. Using traps tactically and in moderation is really enjoyable. Yet isnt oneshotting rogue still a thing? Rogue two weapon fighting. First turn stealth, move, sneak attack, then bonus action for extra attack at lv 3? Thats a lot of damage on fist turn. If surprised mayby you get extra turn after first attack triggers, so one more attack if you win initiative. You can do that, yeah, but without in-combat stealth, after that opening round your rogue becomes sitting duck. I would love to have more involved stealth mechanics that serve as an escape tool during combat. You can lurk in stealth during combat, biding your time, approaching an important but hard-to-reach target without anyone noticing, then strike during one narrow window of opportunity to take down your target. There is a thrill in this that is to me even more enjoyable than being an archmage flinging high-level spells or summoning a legion of high-level monsters.

Summoning is my favorite thing but also really easy to mess up in games. I hope for Summoner too ... I would just like to add Necromancer (there was speculation if Larian will allow us to have many squishy skeletons ... or one really strong skeleton ... i would prefer both options, but rather many squishy) And Druid - Circle of Sheppard ... i dunno, it just sounds so cool to summon animals to help. ^_^
I still dont understand why cant we change Race for our hirelings. Lets us play Githyanki as racist as they trully are!

And druid is a great summoner style, animals are fun.
