There is no way to change special skills; they are class specific. The survivor's sneak skill can be used to avoid monsters (or get close and attack) or to improve your chances of successfully stealing. See
differences between classes (minor spoilers, I believe the exploit mentioned for the survivor's sneak skill was fixed in the latest patch).
