A few other things I just remembered:
- characters don't automatically follow on large jump: sometimes it seems the height of the jump prevents other characters from automatically following you, and to avoid having one or more jump back to where you were, you have to unattach and reattach the characters from the party to get them all together again after making sure everyone jumps
- occasionally characters removed from party: a couple of times there were characters who didn't follow through a portal or for some other reason got separated, and I had to go back to them and get them to join the others, and sometimes reattach them to the party
- goblin bombs exploding in my face: when you throw one of the bombs, it is far too easy for it to hit something in front of you, but arrows never do this, it seems like there's something wrong with the throwing mechanism, and you have to be really careful exactly where you stand before throwing
- climbing / scaling walls skill - it would be nice if we could actually attempt to scale walls or climb things other than nets and ladders, because when those things are gone ( burned, exploded or whatever ) you end up a bit stuck, and the only option is jumping, plus it would allow more creativity when it comes to strategy around things if there were more places we could go within the same content ... imagine for example a character scaling a wall, and then even if there's no top surface to walk on, being able to go sideways to get past someone
- sneak attacks - the above point then also raises the idea of being able to sneak past someone by a greater variety of means, in order to perform a sneak attack from behind
- the passage of time, day and night: there's no real sense of the passage of time, no sunrise and sunset, and I think the world we are playing in deserves these kinds of features ( see comment below about WoW ).
One of my big complaints with world of warcraft has always been that they never developed this climbing skill, and yet due to the way the game engine runs, if they only developed it, you'd be able to climb all sorts of places ( including trees for ambushing monsters ), and one of the things I used to love to do was really just exploring the 3D world they had created, to see the amazing views from different vantage points ... it would be nice to have this feature in the game, so that you could really appreciate the scale of the world from new vantage points, along with all the lighting effects of sunrise and sunset
