This is a really neat feature, but it would be really cool if you could use it switch what character is speaking in a dialogue so you can optimize the characters skills in conversation. This would be particularly useful for when someone has a character built with low charisma or another really low stat.
That being said, I do really enjoy the ability to switch to a character that is not in conversation and be able to do things during that time. So, rather than changing the way that character select works, maybe just tweak it so you can choose to use that character for the dialogue, or be free to run around causing mayhem and havoc.
