After winning a battle the turn based mode is slow to react. I always hit the turn base mode button to quickly resulting in it failing to go into turn based mode. This is very frustrating when I'm rushing to save an ally who is making death saving throws and the turn based mode doesn't activate when I push the button the first time resulting in me thinking I'm in turn based and my characters die because I'm not actually in turn based mode. I would like to emphasize how tedious this small thing is. I suggest extending combat until downed party members are up or dead. Alternatively you could remove the timer between combat and being able to enter turn based mode.

Yup. Kind of surprising, frankly, that Larian can playtest this internally and not have this issue.

Real time with pause outside combats.
This would be awesome and solve a lot of problems.

It's a *Remarkably* common thing for a DM, at the end of of dangerous encounter, as the last of the nasties drops, to say:

"We're not out of initiative yet... Player, you're up, what are you doing?"

Whenever anything time sensitive is going on, you stay in initiative - and the most common reason after a gruelling battle, is in the case of downed allies and whether they'll have to risk any more saves before someone can stabilise or heal them. This is a pretty normal staple of combat etiquette, and is something that should, as Larian have demonstrated to us very clearly, be carried over into video game format in some fashion.

it's more surprising that this was popular feedback since the day after the EA went live and they still have to address it.

Party control in Baldur's Gate 3 is a complete mess that begs to be addressed. SAY NO TO THE TOILET CHAIN

extend combat if unconscious character is on dangerous terrain and just heal for 1 hp or stop death saving throws if not in any danger.

Is it really more surprising, though? Their internal testers are technically still Larian staffers. One would expect Larian to pay some tiny bit of attention to their own employees. Our feedback, meanwhile, is presumably just the random buzzing of flies, most of the time.

I have pretty high faith in Larian's level of competency and general decency, but the EA situation feels perhaps a bit less like a developer engaging in an actual feedback loop with players and more like them letting us players have a go at trying to keep pigeons from shitting on our car purely by writing angry letters to them.
