uh, correct me if i'm wrong but where's the game mechanics as what the topic mentioned above?

i didn't miss the item editor issue. blacksmith feature will be great & more stable & balanced than an external program that edits items. it should flow with the storyline & make the items generated more meaningful. after all, RPG is more story-based than any other game genre except adventure. ok, u can shoot me if i'm wrong.

quest-based items are really great & making sets out of them is awesome. forging parts that u found much like the dragon armor with the dragon heart etc.. should have some kind of impact on parts of the storyline or at least reputation of the character. say, u kill a dragon 2 get its blood/heart/liver/whatever 2 forge some weapon/armor but by killing it u get minus in reputation as its death is unnecessary & 2 certain extend cruel. every action will have impact on the character, either directly or indirectly.

maybe u guys/gals can come up with better ideas.
