new patch is cool but reading how sorcerer gets draconic resilience and that it doesn't stack with mage armor reminds me that 5e is terrible.

But that's not what I was talking about, at all.
If anything, the opposite: I never had problems downloading a large number of gigabytes because my line (1 Gbit/s optic fiber) allows me to do it quickly, but this update spent A LOT of time processing the files.

Party control in Baldur's Gate 3 is a complete mess that begs to be addressed. SAY NO TO THE TOILET CHAIN

Oh the download was quick, the installation itself took a loooong time.

Gog download was bigger (75GB), but install was very quick. If I rememeber well from PoE2 beta, GOG patches were bigger and it doesn't support file modification (a small change in a big file would require replacement, therefore bigger download. I suspect that steam download was smaller because of that, but required some processing to patch things in.

I like a couple of things in this patch. Firstly, the graphics and "look" changes are very welcome to me. As some here will recall, I have been very negative about how the game looks, and spcifically that the environment art style is way too similar to the D:OS games. And since I can't stand the D:OS games, this game looking so much like those games was hard to swallow. Well, now I can finally say BG3 doesn't look like D:OS anymore. And that is huge for me. So thanks for that, Larian!

And secondly, I really love the new weapon actions. As someone who loves melee combat and doesn't care for spellcasting, and given how much spellcasting combat is given undue advantage over melee combat in 5e generally and in this game, this is a much-needed and very welcome rebalancing in favor of non-spellcasting combat.

And height advantage going away is bonus.

Now, as Tuco keeps saying, we just need a change to a normal way to handle party movement. That's a big one I hope for next, along with some details about how game settings and difficulty settings will be handled.

Bottom line, for me, this patch finally moves the game more towards the side of me being willing to buy it someday than the other way.
