2 things makes my Rogue heart sad.
First: expertise. Role in party "Scout". Someone who go in front of party, searching for traps, informing party etc. With expertise in Stealth, Perception, Investigation and Thieves Tools its perfect candidate. Without it, classes like Ranger or Fighter can also jump in in that shoes. Plus in action economy number of creatures is big factor so Ranger with pet, well...
Second: Cunning Action. Bonus action Hide was always a Rogue thing. For example: Et end of your turn Bonus action Hide. Next turn when you attack from hidden position you have Advantage + Sneak Attack.
Because every class can Bonus action Hide, Cunning Action is nerfed...
Out of topic: For me Bard was always "face of the party" with expertise in Persuasion and Deception. Without it, you can pick Sorcerer or Warlock and give them proficiency in Persuasion and Deception.
