1.) Better UI. All spells and all usable items are in the same area. Use the tabs (where you can see how many seplls you can cast this day) obove to switsch between the spells of the different levels. Add a additional tab for usabel items and one for the mindflyer powers you get. Then everything becomes clearer
2.) Spellbook. Its confusing preparing the spells for the next day. There should be fields where you can drag&drop the spells you wanna use (like in all other games with D&D). Now you have to cklick on the spell in a list of spells.
3.) More classes. Almost all D&D games before (BG, NWN) had almost all classes and subclasses available.
4.) More spells. Don't skip spells
5.) Better overview about the class and the progression (like in the pathfinder games).
6.) overall the UI doesn't look high quality and noble like it should. The UI should look more like fantasy not like Sci-Fi.
7.) Better Performance (i am sure the Larian guys already working on this isssue).

What i do like is the map, companions, graphic, quests, story, design of the enemys etc. Thank you for making BG3!

Considering that Ragnarok is the only one in LOVE with hotbars here, many of us would agree with you OP.

Something has to be done about the UI, definitely. It's already a tedious job to manage our UI and I can't imagine what it's gonna look like when they'll add more spells or weapons action and so on...

About the spellbook I think it could stay like it is but in... A spellbook, rather than in such a generic and unappealing menu.

Whatever we like it or not, BG1/2 's UI is definitely a part of these games identity. I really hope Larian will improve the personnality of BG3 through its UI among other things.

About classes and spells it will come. Not sure that ALL spells will be in the game but probably most of them (PHB)

I definitely agree that a menu "like in WoTR" to see the leveling of classes would benefits the game. Especially for new players and/or to build our characters when multiclassing will be in the game.

Thats actually the one weakness Larian currently has, was the same with D:OS2.

Absolutely amazing, stunning game which redefined the genre and set a new benchmark, but the UI/UX was suboptimal there as well.

The unholy micromanagement triad of inventory management, looting and shopping was really a flow killer and caused many of us big headaches (in act 2 of D:OS2 every level up meant: 30-40 minutes of running around buying equipment with a very basic and poor in features user interface), which is why I'm so vocal about requesting a total redesign for Divinity Engine 4.0 (which is what BG3 uses).

The hotbar should be the space where the player can choose to put commonly used abilities/spells for convenience. Not the location where every single ability+consumable+spell+etc is put and accessed from. There should be dedicated popup windows for spells, class actions, and consumables, which automatically organize themselves (by spell level, which spells you prepared, etc).

It would be so easy on tab for spells level 1 one tabe for spells level 2 .... spells lvl 9 one tab for mindflyer powers, one tab for uaable items and one you can customize and fill with all you want

At least Bethesda was respectful, keeping the iconography in Fallout.

I am sure they can always find a way to customize into a hotbar for the DOS2 fans.

yes but only with two subclasses. I am not familiar with D&D 5 but there are much more subclasses like for all other calssses.

Oh ok the other sorcerer subcalsses i found are not from the PHB. Ok i have to be careful...
But two is a little bit less. Love the arcanic bloodline in Pathfinder

Wish the graphics art style was rated R darker gritty fantasy. Borderline on horror.
Its still so DOS style pg13 CCC. Colorful, Comic and Cartoony…
