Is it just me or does anyone else feels its wierd that the whole party knows when you have "promised yourself" to someone for the night during the tiefling party at your camp?
I talked to astarion about sneaking away and have our own little fun when the party is over, and then when i go talk to all my other companions, they comment on how I already have someone to sleep with.
How do they know this? Its as if we were all sitting together and deciding who should have the honor. Is it just me who has thought about this? XD

You're definitely not alone in this... I think its totally weird that everybody seems to instantly know about it. I mean, its ok if the others comment on how we seem to 'like each other' or whatever, but they shouldn't know that we are sleeping together.

Larian's writing team are currently using the tadpole as an easy-out excuse for lazy or inconsistent writing.

If characters know things they shouldn't, then it's because the Tadpole links all of your thoughts, so they know by extension. Only it clearly doesn't apply to everything, when it's convenient for them to not know something.

When Gale confides a secret to you, because he trusts you, and not anyone else - it's a secret that he's revealing, and he's been keeping it from everyone easily enough.. but when he confides in us, then, suddenly, everyone knows, and can comment on it in party banter later - why? Tadpole, apparently - but why do they know when we do, yet not when it was just something that Gale kept to himself?

Further more, it doesn't apply to you at all - because they are all perfectly capable of keeping secrets from you whenever they please, about any range of thing, as long as it's the convenient intention of the writing that they keep it.

It's convenient for written dialogue when we don't know what someone else has been up to: So, for example, Astarion can inform us that he hunted a bear - we don't know in advance, just so that the dialogue can happen, just as we don't know about any of his other activities while we're not around, before the big reveal. We don't even know about his vampiric thoughts regarding his appetites and his companions, before the reveal - he keeps all trace of that hidden from us, apparently, because the vampire reveal needs to be a 'surprise'. Similarly, Astarion doesn't know that we encountered a hunter, if he wasn't with you, until you have a conversation with him and tell him about it - why doesn't he know? Because it's written lazy and inconsistent.

One dont need tadpole to hear two people talking about that ...
ESPECIALY, if they are interested in Tav themselves, so we can expect them to at least watch you if nothing else ... also even if you dont hear every word, i dare to presume that language of a body should provide enough information for our observer that those two are up to someting ...
(Please dont tell me i was the only one who was thinking about "that beautifull girl on prom" ... and then seen her giggle while talking to someone else ... and just thought "oh shit". )

Second part that many people mentions, its "aproval system" ... that is happening right when you make some choice, even tho your companion was in the party when you choose that ...
Personaly i liked that, since people talk ... no matter what you will do, you can bet that sooner or later your "curently inactive" companions should know ... and its simply easier for everyone, if they know and react imediatly ... than if you would get "Gale Disagree" in random time few days after.
(otherwise just another odd scenario happened, when companion that is waiting in camp is blessed by godlike ignoracy about your actions ... you could burn orphanage, and still be seen as Goldstar in eyes of your permanently inactive Paladin ... thats just dumb)

Yeah, it's a very weird bit. On top of being weird it's very gamey - "this is a bit where you pick your romance option." I found Laez especially weird, who points out you can't sleep with her because you didn't gain high enough reputation. Like.... ok, froggy.

I like that the romance options exist, but I agree that it feels a little weird. Still, I don't know, that may just be a limitation of the medium. If it gets better, great. If not, I can live with it.

I’m okay with it. I think it’s clear there is some link building between the party. I mean you all have the same tadpole like dreams, except One character who is a bit different. It’s clear they know intimate details about you.

I have yet to trigger to the camp scene in this play through but last run everyone told me to hook up with Gale, but sadly all of them including Gale turned me down. Clearly they are judging Gale and my character’s interaction as super friendLy.

All I know is, they REALLY don't want me to like romance in this game. The romances are terrible anyway, and knowing the tadpole is linking me to everyone makes it so I want to romance even less.

Funny ... exactly for this reason i find her especialy right. O_o
I mean she is the only one who actualy tells you why she wants to sleep with you (if she does) ... pleasure from sex is just reward in her eyes, nothing more ...

The fact that YOU dont find her appealing is completely different matter.

When you talk with Shadowheart, Lae'zel know that you have promised to go with her.

Lae'zel and Shadow are each on one side of the camp.

Yeah, but have you seen the size of her ears? C'mon.

So especialy for you:
Still close enought to figure out what is going on even without a tadpole.
Also especialy for theese two, you might notice that they OFTEN both disagree just for seeing you talking with other one.

They have the tadpole, so they know. It's not because they don't use it during your playthrough that nothing happens on their end. That's why Shadowheart wants to get rid of it so bad. Cause it's really not ideal for someone who has secrets.

They have the Tadpole. So they know. Except when they don't.

As a principally chaotic good character I don't care at all.

Feeling weird and ashamed because of sexuality is just another lawful thing.
