OK, I don't play mods - just the original how the developers meant the game to be, thank you, Jolie. Kiya You're missing something. Kelsey doesn't alter anything. He's just a new NPC - complete with voiceset (!), how own original portrait, and tons and tons of dialogue. I think he even has more dialogue than the original Bioware NPCs - interactions with every NPC and all. (Note: He's a human sorcerer. With the way BG2 implements the class, it's all but impossible for a sorcerer to be a horrible character, power wise.) Better yet, he doesn't require you to play a therapist. And Kelsey's a sweet, sweet boy. That might be true for other games but BG doesn't need mods unless you have a twisted sense of "good". That game was badass. Heh, not if you play a female PC and want an actually well-rounded romantic interest. For that matter, there're tons of odds and ends Bioware never get around to fixing. (See Baldurdash fixes.) And then there's the fact that ToB is... less than adequate.

Hm, here's Kiya - just a reply test Winterfox? Have you got a pic of Kelsey? I'd have to start the game from scratch - deleted all saves. So, I'd like to know if it's worth having to put up with whining Imoen again.
And he's really for female paladins? Kiya, very curious to start the first mod of her gaming life

http://www.forgottenwars.net/?page=mods/kelseyHe's Neutral Good, so if your paladin isn't too picky ("You are less than Lawful Good? DIE!"), he should suit you fine. He has a terrible singing voice, though. *g* IMO, he's worth it. I started a new game just to test him out, too - along with Solaufien. That time, I had Solaufien, Anomen (ugh) and Kelsey in the party. Fun, er, catfight. Solaufien never engaged, of course, but the dialogue between Anomen and Kelsey (or Kelsey and Jan) is priceless. Let me put it this way: I allowed myself to suffer the inadequacies of Jan (he's a terrible character, power wise, and I've already read through his dialogue once; after Kelsey got some levels, Jan became all but useless as a mage. In ToB, he rarely did anything, if at all) and the arrogance of Anomen (who was rather useless in ToB) just to get the most out of Kelsey. Sidenote: There's also a NWN version of Solaufien, if you have it. Just thought you might want to know, especially if you dislike Anomen. There's a highly amusing encounter wherein Anomen gets bashed.

Yes, thank you I have NWN - but there was no Anomen in there?
Ok, in BG 2 = 6 chars: your main(paladin) + Kelsey(mage) + Anomen(paladin) + Jan(mage) + Imoen for a while/Yoshimo later?(thief) + Minsc(fighter)
where does the 3rd mage fit? (Solaufien) Who's the healer in your group? Who's the char you chuck out for a time being for the side quests: Keldorn, Nalia etc.?
Were you able to survive with this constellation? Or are mods for fun and not playing the whole game? Kiya

Keldorn is actually a VERY good fighter...I don't know why you would chuck him away. I used my char (Fighter)+ Minsc (Fighter/comic relief)+ Jaheira(Elf Druid)+ Keldorn (Paladin)+ Imoen(Theif/mage)+ Edwin(Mage) and it worked out just fine. I did use Sarevok tho in ToB. I was lucky enough to always find health potions so I didn't need a healer.
BEAVERS AND DUCKS!!!

Nono, Krull, you misunderstood me: I liked Keldorn very much as a fighter. I will need him for a side quest - but as I'm just testing this love stuff, I will have to discard one of my group then to have space for Keldorn. And I don't know whom -
I'm not playing the whole game through, I'm just testing the first mod of my life - and I already had the first fight between Anomen and this mage, WAH!!! I clicked on them for the first time and had to choose sides at once: This was too fast for me - so I let them fight, now both are mad at me - they refuse to speak to me - Winterfox, will they forgive me? I need a strategy guide .
<Just one harmless little click... sob> Kiya, absolutely untalented

What, they're already at it? Is it the point where Anomen and Kelsey duke it out in actual fight - as in, to the death?
If you can give me the actual dialogue, I might be able to help. In any case, try the Kelsey forum. By the way, my party went:
PC (straight fighter, no kit) Jan (he's here for thiefy stuff) Solaufien (doesn't act as a mage so much as a fighter with stoneskin and fireshields) Kelsey (primary mage) Anomen (healer and fighter both) Jaheira (also healer and fighter; her fighting capability, of course, exceed Anomen's. Ironskin, baby, and not to mention her summoning spells.)
So my frontline: the PC, a heavily buffed Solaufien, Jaheira, and Anomen. I didn't bother with Imoen; I only took her along once and once only. She's an inadequate thief and, by the time I reach her, she's too low-level and her spell selections are pitiful.
I didn't do the sidequests; I've been through all of them already. But if I must chuck out someone, it's Jan.

Not to the death, the Cowled Wizards intervened - I reloaded, just for sure. Strange, it was my first conversation(hit the "faces" button for Kelsey) - I got both ASAP, after I left the beginning dungeon. Well, after the fight K. got mad at me and said: A. and I fit perfectly together (shudder) - and then both refused to speak.
Ok, if I have to choose sides, which one? Could A. be slimey enough to still stick to my char even if I'm very unfriendly - whereas K. has more honour/self-esteem in his mind?
I didn't install the Solaufien mod pack, too, so I answered with "N" in the DOS box - and "getting rid of Anomen" = didn't install this either, just the normal Kelsey 1.5 for SoA and TOB. Can/Shall I include this, too? (Getting rid)
I'm content with Minsc instead of Solaufien - and I fear, I have to save/keep my little step-sister - even if Jan is better, I like Yoshimo, after all he's just doing his job
Is there no mod where I can have more than 6 chars? Kiya, getting greedy

No, the number of people you can have in a party is hard-coded. Unmoddable.
Strange, though. The fight between A and K should take some time to happen. Hmm. Have you tried the Kelsey forum at Forgotten War?
