I meant more if you are a ranger you get this option sorta thing using game logic/dnd logic this is going places it was never meant to go. Definitely my fault though, I'm not the greatest at expressing what I mean probably didn't write it correctly. I'll do my best to clarify here. I do believe you could recognize someone in the same field. Say a woodcutter shakes another dude's hand he knows that he's also a woodcutter by the dude's calluses because his hands are the same. Interaction and if not that conversation. I'll use the dialogue with Gandrel. You start dialogue with him he says "Powdered iron-vine an old hunters trick most monsters will think twice before making a meal of me." You could be like your companion and deduct he's a hunter but unlike your companion say something like brother you're a hunter too as ranger. Transfer all this to dnd logic and slap a perception or maybe an intellect check in there. Now while on that topic let me explain why I see them most as monster hunters. They have a favored quarry often this quarry is a monster and I'll quote from dnd beyond. Warriors of the wilderness, rangers specialize in hunting the monsters that threaten the edges of civilization—humanoid raiders, rampaging beasts and monstrosities, terrible giants, and deadly dragons. I could go further but I wish to stop here with.....Please let me just take us all down to the fact that this is a game you can do crap in games that doesn't make a lick of sense, but it's fun.
