But Level threshold are way to small in my opinion. I miss huge xp numbers from BG 2 for whatever reason i loved the bigger numbers...
Geting 100xp just looks meh to me, even knowing that the end result is the same.

It's not the big numbers, or smaller numbers, it's that they've jacked up the whole system. The concept is that the DM gives out less XP per enemy because they are splitting XP. So you fight 4 goblins and get 50 XP for your whole party, and if you have a party of 6, that's only 8 XP per character. Yes, that's right, 8 XP after killing 4 goblins. That's it. If you only have a party of 4, that's still only 12 XP per character. So you'd level up a whole lot slower in EA if this was upheld.

Instead, you have 2 characters facing 3 imps and gaining like 50 XP a piece using a strange Group Shared XP system where all characters gain experience even when they aren't in the party participating in the fight and even if you face those same 3 imps with only 2 people or even solo. The imps are grossly nerfed so that it's even possible to defeat them with 1 or 2 characters at level 1 as well. So they aren't really imps. They are some sort of lesser imp-like creatures with no resistance to damage who are already wounded severely and don't even use imp special abilities like stinging people with their tails and such.

So, it all feels very weird and wrong because it is.

Honestly, I did tabletop sessions of this game using proper game mechanics and a party size of 5+, and the level up progression works almost identical to how the game currently is but using XP split. With proper stats for all enemies and proper XP rewards for a party of 5+, you should reach level 6 before you head into the Underdark. I'm assuming that's how it actually is being designed in BG3, but instead of using a party of 5+ as their party size, they're using party of 4 and nerfing enemies and then having to severely rework the entire XP system because everything's all messed up because they aren't using a proper party size to match the encounters they've built.
