Although I don't like racy dialogue, it is better than having visual raciness. Images flash before your eyes, and they remain in your brain. They're there in a flash, and then gone, but their memory remains much more vividly than a simple description.

That said, I don't like either, but if I had to pick one to filter, it'd be the visuals.

Same with audio. You hear something, the memory of it remains a lot longer than reading it on the screen. I could read a racy book full of raunchy, steamy stuff, and the memory of that would not stick with me as much as someone going at it on a movie screen. (Not that I prefer either. I'm speaking more from past experiences.)

How about this for audio? Give players the ability to turn off background conversations. That would certainly be a VERY much appreciated setting. The words could even still pop up on the screen as dialogue text that's floating above their heads, but let me turn off background convos.

This would also, then, save me from the redundant "I care about our lives, OUR FUTURES!" conversation in the grove between Rolan and his companions. They drive me nuts!
