With patch 6 we have the grymforge and a very vertical map which is awesome but the limitations of the camera controls really show itself when trying to navigate around there I was just wandering how others felt about the camera good or bad let me know...

It's not just there, but the temple of Selune too

getting pushed into the spider-pit or dealing with anything in the rafters is like burning a turn or two just to grapple with the camera

Have been complaining about this since the start. We desperately need Z axis movement, right now it feels like we all have broken necks and can't look up. I feel like I am using only the top inch of the game window to play. For a game that prides itself as having verticality, it sure doesn't want us to actually use it.

Broken necks… yep that pretty much describes it.

Agree they have needed to fix this since day 1.

Preaching to the converted …one of the very few things I’d like them to work on more

Agreed, camera movements have become very wonky with Patch 6, they were not perfect before but definitely worse now. I'm fairly confident they will get to this in time. Sure, it's annoying, but not exactly game breaking at this stage, and DOS2 had good camera management overall (even if there wasn't quite as much verticality).

I would very much like to be able to move the camera wherever I want on the map though. In DOS2, it was easy: move your camera to a point faraway where you want to travel, click wherever you want to go, and your PC would go. Here, you need to babysit your PC and bring them all the way where you want them to go, and I find it an annoyance, especially given how the system worked in DOS2.

In the burning inn, my first instinct is to mistystep to the second floor, but the camera won’t show it to you. The second floor dissolves to reveal the first floor underneath until someone in the party is already up there. And even then, you need to do some character selection shenanigans to make the camera understand you’d like to look at the second floor while controlling someone at ground level.

Larian, please make accessibility a priority for upcoming patches.

+1 for addressing the camera controls - I recently returned to the Early Access to see how things have changed, and I pretty much fell at the first hurdle because of the camera smirk

For me, the issue is actually that the camera feels so constrained that it sets off my agoraphobia. I actually posted the following as feedback on the Larian support site:

"I'd like to provide some feedback to Larian around the camera controls for BG3, specifically to request if they can be "unlocked" in some way to give greater freedom to look around.

My reason for asking is because I suffer from Agoraphobia, a condition where I get panic attacks if I am in a situation where I think that escape might be difficult, and for me this is particularly linked to having my ability to look around impeded. So the limited camera controls in Baldurs Gate 3 are quite problematic for me.

One solution would be to have a camera mode where I can look around freely, from the perspective of the main character - though any increase in camera freedom would be appreciated. Alternatively, can you please let me know if BG3 is likely to support modding of camera views? I am a software developer so I would be comfortable learning the underlying systems to modify the camera views..."
