I will say, the idea that the Justiciars were kidnapping the children would lend credibility to some theories that Shadowheart was actually one of the children of Moonhaven and that maybe she was kidnapped by them. That's why the statue in Moonhaven triggers a response from her, etc.
Still, one of the Necromancer's documents mentions his familiar making abductions easier. Who is being abducted in town? The poster says the children. So it makes sense that he was kidnapping them.
There is also a note that the apprentice was up to stuff in the well. She took the keygem. The keygem was in the spider matriarch's lair. The journals seem to have a progression to them, AND one of the journals says that Eliette was a High Elf who gave up her previous life for Lolth. I really have a hard time with her not being the matriarch. Maybe I'll reread them all yet again and note where you find them all.
