One of the primary concerns from the naysayers at the moment is how the game basically isn't making any development progress seeing how the "EA is still only the first act !!1!" and "This game will come out in 2025 at this rate!1!1" or even "This is yet another EA scam1!1!". If the D:OS2's EA is anything to go by, there were quite a few trailers and materials released in its second half showcasing later acts (heck, the first few screenshots we got were of the Driftwood region, actually) and origin characters.

If there's anything of the sort coming for BG3 any time soon(tm) - perhaps even something neat for the holidays, like the D:OS2 daily find-a-difference game? - it'd be quite a haymaker that'll, perhaps, at least somewhat sway the opinion of all the folks with buyer's remorse out there who couldn't read into the big bold blue letters explaining what they are paying for. There are a few of those cropping up on the Steam forums every now and then, and they seem to be the primary source of what review-bombing of the game there is.

Or they'll just pull another reason to complain out of their arses. They often tend to.

Show us a picture showcasing a location within Baldur's Gate.

Everyone will chew on that for MONTHS.

My concern with where the plot might be going is that

the city may be in a state of disarray by when we get there, and it'll be far less of a mostly peaceful, open-ended hub the way BG and Athkatla were in the older games. If there's an entire act to be dedicated to it, considering all the character options the game provides, the level of reactivity will either have to be absolutely insane (going as far as making it a whole different experience for gith and drow, for instance), or it'll need to be averaged out enough to accomodate everyone equally. No idea how they'll handle that at this point.

I really hope not in regards to that spoiler. I'd think even DOS2 fans would be upset at the idea of Baldur's Gate being Arx 2 electric boogaloo. The last act of DOS2 is always cited as the weakest and most disappointing part of DOS2 by miles, and I'd imagine Larian is keen on avoiding that.

Well what is the number of acts, anything that defines number or length of each? Nothing afaik, all i know after decades of research is that i know nothing...

Ahem. That said the grymforge was opened up partially. With a few tantalising paths deeper into grymforge.
Oh and dead nere is a dumb nere, should just have busted the gates.. although granted his weapons might be ineffectual as sticking a rapier into a door probly isnt very effective (lol) and then sat on the temple overlook breathing in the darkness.
psst best way to handle nere aside from waiting is iirc to start by killing the duergar from the backmost. Also.. notice how everyone gathers up in a collection when offering to do some demolitions? So delicious to instead blow THEM up laugh

Anyways, expect that to be opened up a bit further as a more or less on time jesus birthday present by the 3 wise men of larian.

And what we have seen leaves so many questions. Like if someone does show up with the officer mask of those hellthings with halberds, will the troopers be confused? Why no masks on the 2 bodies around the speaking amulet island, they did have halberds. Shar statuette, and at such a off place. Like the hidden and warded selune one.
Also seems there are just 2 mithril ores? Tho i guess deeper down will have as much mithril as the shore had fluoride gems. Its not as if adamant so far is super awesome with its rather prohibitive weight. May want to look into that Larian, make adamant armor etc weigh just half as much.

Also darkvision is currently kinda useless, you really need someone with the light spell to move around underdark and lighting up the lead characther to see anything. Maybe torches work too.

I gotta say I understand game companies gotta hype their game, but man its just brutal if this is like 3+ year from release for all EA people.

They could add/sell more Origin Characters, so players can play the Act 1 again and get to know with Characters. Or release Battle Generator for players to design battles, so they can battle while wait for full release.

OR how about VIP forum for EAers? I might pre-order. EA people could get some extra goodies.

Meh, any doubts players have now will,be irrelevant when 1.0 drops. Enter to wow players closer to actual release to build up hype, then drop feed content potentially over a year ahead of full release. Not that I wouldn’t be interested in seeing a bit of BG city.
