https://forums.larian.com/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=803755#Post803755The following occurred at the goblin checkpoint after leaving Blighted Village. This is the one where we meet the goblin Sentinel Olak.
I went through the dialogue and ended up throwing poo at the goblins. They didn't like that and it triggered combat. At this checkpoint there is a goblin, Sharp-Eye Snurd, posted to the right on elevated ground. I used Misty Step to get up there so that I could shove him off. Snurd had better dice and ended up pushing my character off the cliff into a deep (deep) canyon. The drop leads to a part of the map that is not traversable by the player.
The doomed character teleports to camp (along with the camera); dead. I was not expecting this but it makes sense. It looks glitchy, though. Perhaps the teleport should not steal the camera away and the player can just be notified that "character is back at camp" or something.
I finished the rest of the fight with the goblins and clicked on the icon to go to camp. I was presented with a message that said I could not fast travel at that time. I thought maybe I was too close to the next group of goblins, immediately after the checkpoint, so I moved the team over to the Blighted Village. The camp icon still did not work and presented the same message about not being able to fast travel.
Opening the map and selecting "Camp" from the list of waypoints I was able to travel back to camp. I thought it would be best to just send one character so that's what I did. I used a scroll to revive the dead party member and it worked. I tried to group the 2 party members so that they could exit the camp together but it didn't work. This is most likely due to the fact that the revived character died at the goblin checkpoint while the other fast traveled from Blighted Village. The logic makes sense for the program but, as a player, the game had me confused for a bit. With both characters at the camp, not grouped, I selected to exit the camp. The previously dead player went back to where Snurd was originally posted and the other went back to Blighted Village even though only one character was selected. Note that all party members at this point were showing their portraits as grouped even though one was so far away that the character wasn't even loaded into the map.
To reproduce this my suggestion is to let Sharp-Eye Snurd push you into the deep since it's an easy setup. I suspect it will happen anytime a character dies outside the boundary of the game map.
