The Absolute's warboard allows the wearer to cast absolute's protection (+2 AC) on one who wears the absoulte's mark. Others wo do not wear the mark in the spell area get blighted.

I confronted the Githyanki patrol for the first time since patch 6. They've been beefed up indeed. In theory it looks impossible to win this.
Still I think it's an unavoidable fight because it makes Lae'zel see the truth about the purification. I managed to win it after a number of tries in patch 4. But the patrol wasn't so poweful then if I remember correctly.

Anyway, I have Shadowheart wearing this warboard, and Lae'zel is branded. So I should be able to up Lae'zel's AC and at the same time blight the surrounding Githyanki because they don't wear the mark of the absolute.

I didn't work. The Githyanki have no averse effect. It's not like they do a savethrow. The combat log shows nothing of the kind. The spell just doesn't get activated on them. They were in range. It was visible in the combat scene.

And so, bviously the party got exterminated in short time. Not only is the patrol immune to the blight, but in maybe 3 turns they scored several critical hits on my guys too. We were swapped just like flies.
(And yes, Tav and Gale were left on the high ground. Only Lae'zel and Shadowheart downthere)
It looks like mission impossible. But, I'm especially angry because , when the odds are so stacked against you, you need all guile and cunning available to up the advantage . In this case, the absiolute protection from the warboard seemed a good idea. But it's not allowed to do its work.

Bah. Ok, sometimes one needs to rant. Sorry.

So is this a bug or is there's something about GY patrols magic resistance that I missed ?
