Still young and still pretty.

I haven't logged in a few, but guess I'll kick around for this one with the boudoir chest plate and grieves hehe. It's just amusing and then dispiriting to see yet another suit of female armor that fails to protect the vital organs. You know like say the heart and the femural artery lol. I mean those are kind of important to cover up right? Most people won't even attempt light gardening without some gloves on.

The art director could have requested a quick fix and asked the illustrator to add some chain mesh at least. They'd still have been able to keep the sexy cut and trim but at least it'd look more sensible. Or I don't know, give her some bark or stone skins maybe?

Her weapon proficiencies and starting equipment in BG1 were always a bit annoying, fully in da club, but least she could use a shield and wear heavy armor. Nobody had her using the quarterstaff and leather duds I'd wager, once they left the inn.

The old prohibition against druids using metal weapons and armor is a weird and illogical anachronism and I was surprised to see 5e going back to it. If anything a restriction against using equipment made of felled trees or dead animals would make more sense thematically, albiet still pretty silly.

Historical druids belonged to a late Bronze early Iron Age culture, and the Celts of the period were accomplished metal workers. Just look at their iron torques, all the jewelry and elaborately wrought tools! They also struck coins as well, with fanciful designs and ornate embellishments. They certainly didn't eschew metallurgy, which is one of our most ancient arts, and probably exactly the sort of mysteries and secret knowledge their priestly class would have been entrusted with preserving. D&D presents Druids like a Neolithic throwback crossed with a new agey sensibility, but it's always been an oddball concept.

My impression of Elves and Half-Elves from the lore is that they increase in power the older they are, sort of like vampires. By the end of TOB Jaheira is a Heirophant and should have ceased to age already from her Druid class, so whatever conceit they use to bring her back, its probably fine for her to still look all young and beautiful, but it'd have been nice to see her fully decked out. You know with the 'full' plate mail, a tower shield, a dread helm, the root of the problem or belm or something. Her armor in the illustration above would be pretty cool if they didn't ruin it with the lingerie look and exposed parts just to grab eyes. They might as well have given her a garter to hold up her stockings with the thigh high steel pleasers lol.

ps. Is she just a Druid now and no longer a Fighter Druid? Doesn't really mention anything about her being a Fighter in there. You'd think they'd have given her a couple levels as a brawler or at least a mention of martial prowess, since that was kind of her whole combo deal in BG1/2.
