I'm experiencing exactly the same issue over here on Windows 10 w/ AMD Radeon RX 5700 GPU and current (Jan 2022) driver. I've tried everything suggested here

https://www.drivereasy.com/knowledge/baldurs-gate-3-not-launching-fix/Nothing has worked. Crash Report window appears right after pressing Play in the launcher. No crash report is generated. This is on Steam, my other games launch and run just fine.
Any help would be appreciated.
