Thanks for your reply. Load times have never been great for me, either, but they weren’t this bad. It’s a real disincentive to trying wackier approaches, knowing that if things go horribly wrong then there’s a huge wait to try again.

I wonder whether Windows 11 could be a factor, as that’s the other thing that’s changed for me. We’ll see what happens with patch 7, and I’m also finally going to try adding some RAM as my laptop only came with 8GB, and as folk on this thread have already said that’s not much these days.

I haven’t noticed my machine getting hotter, though. That would be a worry!
