No problem, MM is ideal because it never misses. Great for mirror image too. There is an item that lets you cast it but I can’t recall where you get it sorry!
The Hobgoblin in the Underdark if you're referencing the necklace? Still not a bad idea there either, as I like to play things through in different orders each time I play. Today I discovered one of the Zhentarim NPCs (The guy with the wolves up top) carries double single-handed crossbows, allowing 2 attacks with ranged attacks. I don't know if it's new or I never noticed in previous patches, maybe you already knew, but that could've helped me out too. Haha.
