Larian Studios Forums Baldur's Gate III Baldur's Gate III - Technical & Gameplay Problems Broke my UI?

So I've got no clue how I did this, honestly. I've removed my mods and Public folder, but my UI is all sorts of fucky. I'm thinking it might be lingering files somehow of my old UI mod, but I have no clue where they'd be, cuz its just a PAK file I put into my mods folder.
I'm supposing I'll have to do a completely clean install to really see if it was something lingering from my mods, but this is just so strange lmao, I removed all my mods but the UI is still broke. Anybody know how to do a proper clean BG3 install? I only know how to do them for skyrim so idk if its any different lmao

I am having a similar issue. I've tried doing a clean reinstallation and have had no luck. Mods are all deleted as well. I'm hoping to find help here the same as you Here is a brief look at the mess that currently is without mods and clean:

Is anyone else experiencing this issue? And has a solution been shared anywhere?

Same here. UI is broken and some cutsomization buttons are a mess. Subrace button's gone, appearance buttons like horn, facial hair are not working once you click them.
But when you move to another category and then go back, the buttons reappears/works. Of course it's stuck again when you click.


Remove mods and reinstalled the game, upgraded graphic driver but still doesn't work.

- Check that both `\AppData\Local\Larian Studios\Baldur's Gate 3` is empty, and that there are no **__folders__** in \Steam\steamapps\common\Baldurs Gate 3\Data (or similar install paths depending on platform) other than "Localization". (Ignore the .pak files, they're supposed to be there, only look for folders specifically. This step is to make sure you don't have any old forgotten loose mod files. Typically the folders will be named 'Mods' and 'Public', if any.)


PS: Patch 7 moved the old /Documents/ content into /AppData/ so check both.

Firstly, thank you kindly for responding. This has been vexing me for awhile now.

I did search the computer and could not find the `\AppData\Local\Larian Studios\Baldur's Gate 3` anywhere on the PC. I'm guessing this is problematic somehow but I've no clue how to resolve it as I've done 3 clean installs now. There is a Larian Studios file in documents, though it opens to Baldur's Gate 3 - which is empty. Also searching AppData on the PC on all drives does not reveal anything related to Larian Studios or BG3.

Write '%APPDATA%' in the path bar in windows file explorer to access AppData. Then go up one directory and into Local folder to find the new Larian Studios folder.

Ok, I did find the local folder. There are two Larian Studios files there, a week apart in date. One appears to have nothing in it but a folder titled 'Launcher' The other folder has a 'Launcher' folder and a Baldur's gate 3 folder which has what looks like old copies of my mods. I take it I am ok deleting the second folder?

I went ahead and deleted the folder that contained the old mods in it. The game appears to be working normally now.

Now to figure out how to use mods with Vortex. I'm assuming it is going to an old filepath instead of the new one. I'll start looking into that.

Thank you so much! I had no clue anybody else was having this issue haha. Im guessing we all used the same UI mod that got stuck with the update. I decided to check the thread on a whim before I opened up my game again after the clean install and I'm glad I did cuz I would've been upset my UI was still broken after the clean install. Trying out the appdata solution now!
