I always go for a clean install when a new patch comes out. This includes uninstalling the game and then also manually removing the two Larian folders (one in "Documents", the other in C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local (or LocalLow, don't recall).
Also: Ensure that you have the latest video card drivers installed and do not use mods for the time being. Good luck!
