I'm left with a conundrum: I don't know why I was able to get the Rage damage in my last post. Are the rules for "Rage: Wolf's Heart" different to the rules for "Rage", was there some error on my part, or is there something I'm overlooking?

So, little development on this! Cardshark on Discord did some testing and it seems I moreorless had the right of it. They got bonus damage on Dexterity-based attacks for the initial Rage, for a Bear Barbarian's rage, and for a Berserker's rage.

The other Wildheart Hearts, though, did not give them bonus Rage damage. This inconsistency is probably an error: I imagine either the Barbarian Rage is meant to be limited to Strength attacks, or it's been simplified to any attack with a melee weapon but the other Rages were coded as if the Strength restriction were still in place.

I took my barbarian as an Eagleheart because *gestures at username*.

I feel like a professional wrestler climbing up on a turnbuckle and jumping onto an opponent. Like, every turn. You only need about 2m of elevation advantage to use Diving Strike (why didn't they call it Eagle Strike?). So you run up a hill/stairs/ladder/whatever, then Diving Strike to lay them down Prone.

It's even more fun if you climb up on a roof or whatever, throw/shove an enemy archer off, then Diving Strike onto them.

Also, I have those boots that give you Lightning Charges, so it feels like this:

only played bg3 EA when it first launched. didn't want to install it for the moment until full release. unless i fail my patience check.
was reading on some site about frenzied strike.

"As a bonus action, make a melee attack with your equipped weapon, dealing Weapon Damage slashing damage."

so what if i'm a wielding a hammer? do i get additional slashing damage out from a blunt weapon? or if i don't get any, it simply means i'm restricted to slashing weapon only.
are there any damage type immune monsters in dnd5e?

also can barbarian dual-wield? since dual-wielding usually uses an off hand weapon using the bonus action, do we get additional attack from this frenzy?

The tooltip changes depending on what you're wielding. So if you're wielding a hammer it will be blunt damage.

As for dual-wielding and the two-handed weapon feat, you benefit from frenzy by being able to use larger weapons and not having to take feats to gain a bonus to hit.

Personaly i would say that taking dual wield for Berserker is a misstake ... like making meele strike with quarterstaff with a Wizard who have -1on Strength ...
Totally possible but not even half as effective as shocking grasp.

Hypothetical question:
Is a berserker/thief a good idea?

I think the devs confirmed that there will be multi classing.
Thief will get two bonus actions.
Berserker gives you an attack with your main weapon as bonus action.
Does it mean you would get two additional attacks with your main weapon?
Barbarians get only one more regular attack at lv5.

So a lv5 berserker/lv3 thief would have 4 attacks with a huge weapon, plus rage bonus, with advantage (reckless attack if you do not have advantage already) and one of those gets 2d6 sneak damage.

Take 4 rogue levels for the feat, all other levels barbarian.
Capstone abilities are not relevant, looks like we will not reach lv20.

As far as i know (will check later, and eventualy edit this) ... no.
Since if you are wearing the "get Bonus Action, when you have 50% HP" helm ... you also cant attack 3 times, i believe that attack have "once per turn" condition.

And if, im certainly going to suggest the same for Tieves and all Dual Wield. :P

Totem Warrior, the Berserker doesn't even come close.
It is one of the most powerful subclasses in general and I'll be on the edge of my seat, waiting to see how Larian balances that one out. Barbarian Totem Warrior description
You don't have to be experienced in D&D to know that this is overpowered, the Bear totem should get you through most of the fights with ease.

Yes, the bear totem spirit is OP. I DMed the Descent into Avernus campaign and we had one of those in the team. It essentially doubles the HP while raging, making a 20 CON dwarven barbarian nearly unkillable once he reaches 5-6th level.

Raging Druid in Bear form...with Bear Totem!

Now that's some high quality H2O!
