I think the point that Larian is trying to drive home is that you don't (and probably won't) like everyone in your party.
I truly hope that isn't the case and such a big departure from the originals. Larian sure do make some strange decisions.
I'd just like some down-to-earth companions with a relatable backstory. That is one of the things that might make me reconsider playing the game again (after over a year of not doing so).
