Testing conditions: shield dwarf, level 4 Berserker Barbarian, STR 18. While under the effect of Frenzy, I use Enraged Throw skill to throw Sword Of Justice at an enemy.

My dwarf rolls 20 on attack, however I see no signs of double damage anywhere:

Now, this is serious, Larian. Are you robbing us of our hard-earned crits?

I cannot tell from the tooltip, because Larian's tooltips and combat log don't actually give sufficient information, but what was the damage die that was rolled for the throw?

If there was no actual damage die - as in, it was simply a flat base, plus your strength mod, plus your rage bonus, then there is nothing *to* double, because crits only double your damage dice, not your modifiers.

If, however, it was rolling, say for example, a d6 for the object, which you rolled a 1 for, and it's just not telling you that, then yes, that d6 should definitely either get doubled or be rolled twice, for a crit.

You might be right, the die isn't shown. It's always a flat 1 on all my screenshots I've taken, unless I throw a handaxe. Would be a pity if it's not a coincidence.

Do you know of a better source of data? I once tried to look for some sort of a mod or a plugin that would log all dice rolls made internally by game, but haven't found any.

There is no better source, no - that's kind of the problem we, as EA testers, have been facing. The game doesn't want to give us the information we need to test things properly and give precise feedback.

Niara,

Looks like you are right. When I throw a corpse, it shows 1d4 Bludgeoning, but for any item except handaxe it's always a flat 1. Oh well.

If you are throwing items, damage should (based on what Swen told us in PFH 5) be calculate based on weight of item ... unless the item have "throw" property, in wich case weapon uses its damage die (handaxes, javelins, daggers, ... dunno if there is anything else) bcs "its created to be thrown"

In that case, corpses are also created to be thrown, because it's 1d4 for them.

Daggers... interesting, need to check that.

Pretty sure it is not. My ranger 12str 17 dex only deal 1 dmg with dagger. Finesse is melee only in bg3.
Edit: Actually it does, i must be high or something....
Edit2:Wait a minute, Attack roll is str only, damage roll can be str or dex

If it's a finesse weapon with the thrown property, and you're throwing it at an enemy as an attack roll, that attack roll should absolutely be made using dex if your dex is higher. If it is not doing that, please be sure to bug report it.

In the picture i was throwing a dagger which have : light, throw, finesse but it still add str mod. Bg3 homebrew intensified.
About reporting bug i am kinda lazy so forgive me.🙏🙏🙏

This is a little odd ...
You say it counted Strength modifier ... but on screen it counts +4 from strength ... so unless you somehow have 20Dex and 18Str ... it works properly.
