Hey, do you have any reasonable link with text or video that explains D&D 5ed because my love started with Neverwinter Nights and although I played BG games, I never played tabletop. What can I expect from points of difference or classes?
You can forget what is the most powerful class in DnD 3 edtion is not same in BG3...
Well so far they have not yet relased any such Domain I want for my Cleric builds but to start of Cleric is kind of DEMIGOD in Neverwinter Nights that is not so in DnD 5.
There are many who say Cleric is kind of SUPERIOR in DnD5th. I do not agree and obviously they have not played Dnd3rdtion Cleric.
There are many who say Cleric is kind of crap class in Dnd5th. I do not agree.
Cleric one such in a party Dnd5 ? Maybe SUPERIOR if you really do the best build and choises of Domain and stats all powerplay into Kingdom Come!
However Cleric is good in party and not as as solo character generally so often! Cleric also have Turn Undead, but there are not so many times it is useful but that can happen.
If I would make one SOLO character try I would not try Cleric as class for this game... However Cleric can become powerful one such in a group together with group it is group dynamic. In addition those who think Cleric is a healbot are wrong though one of the best healers in the game.
In DND 3 Neverwinter Night it is very easy make a demi God Cleric that will solo defeat anything.
In BG5 it will take some real good choices to make a powerful Cleric.
Still as solo build I would not take Cleric for BG3 for sure if you want to test how one character can solo win.
At low levels a Barbarian Superior class example newly released can become pretty powerful but so can a Fighter or Paladin as well become. Paladin is more specialized if the can smite an example Demon then they can give more damage then the Barbarian vs Evil enemies such as Demon... Fighter and Paladin can be boosted by spells and tactics while Barbarian is more like one characters solo rage.
Wizard is great a superior class, but they will more come into power at higher levels. Well and Wizard if they meet something that is greatly resistant to spells is perhaps not best then. Sorceror and Warlock.. about near Wizard level but you are stuck with your spell choises so need to choose well at level up while wizard can be more safe for a newbie that want to try different spells they have always their variety.
Bard? Well not my expertise.
Monk? Well not my expertise though do martial arts in real life. Well at level 7 Monk levels they get Evasion which can be useful vs fireballs or Dragon Breath.
Evasion
At 7th level, your instinctive agility lets you dodge out of the way of certain area effects, such as a blue dragon’s lightning breath or a fireball spell. When you are subjected to an effect that allows you to make a Dexterity saving throw to take only half damage, you instead take no damage if you succeed on the saving throw, and only half damage if you fail.
Rogue? Well if you want to get rich and open way to some great tresure or steal there is the expert.
Ranger? If they can use the environment they can be very useful. Sometimes it is also more safe to fight from distance with bow. Well and they can choose favored enemies so it depends on what they fight.
Druid? Druid one of the greatest things with it can access places other characters can not access and that can be useful in BG3. Well and the Moon shapeshifting is so much more cool at least for me to do and they can cast spells. Druid spells can also give kind of area control slow down enemies or get them stuck etc.
On the other hand this is not Dungeons Dragons... this is BG3. In BG3 enviroment gives more boost attack from high places etc. use tricks here and there and you can play fine with not so great class.
Well and then there is multiclass.
