Was disappointed not to see a volume control slider for the narrator audio thread. I much prefer to have no narration audible at all as I would prefer to read the lines as the narrator's voice and inflection simply doesn't fit with the game, imo, and is a block to immersion in the game for me. I can read the lines much faster than she can enunciate them. What happened? The narrator volume control was originally in the game and was a boon for DOS2--made a big difference, positively, being able to turn it off. I notice the narration lines have been whittled down, which is fine, but it is still not the same as the absence of the narrator audio track as she fits nowhere in the game--her voice and inflections and emphasis are distracting, and every time I play I say out loud, "Why can't I shut down the narration volume???" It's not that her voice is bad--it's not bad at all--it's that no one belonging to that voice is in the game, and to hear it is jarring. I'm disappointed that Larian has never explained the rationale behind this move, as it was a brilliant notion in DOS2, and was in BG3 in the beginning. I know from perusing other threads earlier that I am not the only one making this observation and request. If people like the voice, that's great--I'm glad--but how about a separate volume control for those of us who find it a distraction?
Sincerely,
