I think it speaks to the overall quality of this game when the main discussion after a hotfix release revolves around the inventory handling of temporary companions.

I've only scratched the surface so far but I am already having so much fun and - as probably all of us here - can't wait for the full game.

I believe this is still an issue. Not only for the Druid Grove, but when going to camp. Non-party members, including Withers and Scratch, go hostile as soon as I enter camp.

Just think of the disappointment if his armour turns out to be all padding...

It's probably just a sticking-plaster solution intended as a temporary fix.
This is a new UI concept that has not had hordes of sticky fingers poking it before patch 7, so there is not much point determining long-term fixes until they have collated and examined the implications of all reported problems.

If it's still there in patch 8, then they probably don't care about the issue.

It's possibly a trial to stop manipulating items and other stuff of the not-quite-yet-companions, gone wrong? I can understand Larian a bit, I find it utterly unimmersive if you could get Lae'zels armor (without kiling her) and put it on yourself or Shadowheart. That would never happen in a real Fearun, wouldn't it? (therefore I never take her armor, also later in the game) On the other hand, if people want to cheat and trick themselves in a SPG, why not?

The more interesting question for me is, why did you make a dex based Barbarian with high strength too? Wouldn't it be better to up other stats for a better balanced char?

Because even a dex-based barbarian still needs to hit things, and that means Reckless Attack - because a Barb that isn't reckless isn't really a proper barb ^.^ - and Reckless requires that you use Strength to attack with (even if you're wielding a finesse-capable weapon, and even if your Dex is higher), so you still want a Strength score as high as you can reasonably get it, even if it's not your first (or second) focus. Sometimes you just want to leave the brain and face abilities to other people.
