Hello, I am wondering if anyone else is having the same problem that I have experienced. It appears that character textures are completely missing from my game. I installed the game yesterday through Steam and was unable to load a cloud save game without crashing, so I created a new character. The game engine loads fine, but the character skins are completely invisible, no matter what race/gender/class of character is selected. I validated the files through Steam, which stated there were missing files and it downloaded them. Then, Steam gave a "update files corrupted" error, but this error didn't reappear after I clicked refresh, and the process completed. Load up the game, start new character, and same issue. I've even completely uninstalled the game and reinstalled it, with the same results, both before and after validating files.

The next step I am going to attempt is changing the data center that Steam selects, instead of the geographically closest choice, to see if the files were just corrupted on that update server. If anyone has any other suggestions, I'd be happy to hear them. Thank-you in advance for any help!

Hello, I do not know what causes the error and I would not know how to fix it, but I can try to offer you some methods to try to correct it.

First, to help the Larian technical team with this problem, it would be good if you put the specifications of your GPU and the graphics driver in use at the time of the error and if you use Vulkan or DirectX 11 Graphics API (https://larian.com/support/faqs/what-is-vulkan-what-is-the-difference-between-vulkan-and-dx11_48), in addition to the version of the OS that you use.

Then I would recommend you to check if you can update the graphics driver of you GPU, if you have the latest version, try to reinstall it manually with a clean and correct installation with Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU), there are very simple tutorials on how to use it software on sites such as YouTube.

I hope this will help you and Larian to correct this problem.

Issues like this are often caused by mods. It's not simple to completely uninstall them, you need to manually check some folders: https://larian.com/support/faqs/mod-information_77
