Wasn't it the skinny Puppy singer (or sunthesizer) who got together with someone else to form a band? (This is probablly not specific enought...) My brother has an album with this band, and to say the least, they're scary, and strange. He told me about the singer, who when they did the album, he started the day with injecting heroin, and drinking loads of booze. Then he went to work on the album, then he got home and smoked pot til he passed out. That's what his days looked like when doing the album. Note that he is dead (guess what he died from).

Checked it out on Wikipedia. One of the Skinny Puppy band members died from an overdose (heroin). Doesn't mention any other band though...
