I guess there either needs some collision detection on each wearable for the beard to behave correctly or make the Beard stiff as made of concrete and live with clippingproblems.

Many games have such problems.
Maybe its just to much detail a developer has no time and money to waste into.
Question is how much Detail a developer puts into the game and will the game benefit from it.
Red Dead Redemption 2 is very well known for the rich details everywhere,
but as i didnt played it and only read about it, i cant say if there is no clipping at all in that game.
