Its certainly one way to read it ...
Personaly i preffer it sounds fun ... but since i know that many ideas can sound fun on paper, but are not so fun in the game ... i would need to see some real model of Larian implementation, before i would give it my vote.
I allready know food suplies, and i kinda like them ... so ... easy choice for me.
