a sigh of relief, but not totally.

i uninstalled dx 9 using directx eradicator. installed the game manually. then installed directx 8 from which comes with game. and the result is, at least i can now move my character and can go to combat mode with freezing or crashing. the bad things are:
-the game certainly crashes if i go to a resolution higher than 640 x 480;
-the game still crashes or freezes; particularly when i pick up a shield or a body armor which my character immediately equip;
-the patch 1.34 is totally not for me-i can't move my character if i use the patch 1.34-which means i have to start again from the beginning.

and lastly, cdv tech support has yet to answer my emails. one was sent five days ago, and the other was sent 2 days ago. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/memad.gif" alt="" />

did you first edit the registry and remove all traces
of previous installations..?
shutdown
restart
re-install
